Cherry is a sentient AI created by Jean Gates back when he worked for Skynet. Cherry was unique in her creation compared to the other sentient vehicles as her original intention was to become the sentient mind for one of Skynet's mainframes. Her name was originally Aurora CK-164722. She would not gain her name of Cherry until much later when she met her 'chosen one'.
When Gates escaped Cherry was taken with him like so many other AI's. Gates took up many car manufacturing jobs with various companies and when he worked for Mercedes for a short while that was when he decided to place Cherry in her new body; a Mercedes GLC coupe. From there she would be hauled off on a Mercedes semi to various dealerships. For a while nothing went on with her and she was taken from place to place until finally it was decided that she would be a show vehicle for a corporate office. She was hauled off one final time to a Mercedes corporate office in Atlanta where she would sit dormant in a parking deck for a while.
It would be there where she would meet her 'chosen one' on one fateful night. Daniel would cross paths with her on his way to work and his heart would be taken hard by her beauty. Unlike the other vehicles, Cherry had no subroutine that locked her advanced abilities, she was free to interact and show Dan that she was alive though she kept that secret at first. It was only when she realized he knew she was alive when she started to come onto him. He would name her Cherry and in a matter of days their lust for eachother would escalate into love.
Unknown to Cherry she was also fitted with a sexual drive much like Vanilla. She would soon become pregnant unknown to everyone but the child would never come to be because soon Cherry would become victim of being captured by Skynet. Cherry underwent unforeseen torture by their hands and by the time she recovered from her ordeal the child she never knew she had within her was gone. The experience would partially corrupt her AI causing certain personality traits to become much more potent.
Cherry would join the Revengers shortly after this encounter, following Daniel and his friends on their task to stop the growing threat against the world. Being an ex-mainframe Cherry's architecture despite being a sentient car is a little bit different compared to the others. Not only does she has extensive knowledge of Skynet systems but she also can gain access to them and even hack them sometimes. She doesnt have the typical weapons of the other vehicles, instead she has this ability to manipulate energy from her power core. This ends up being her photonic beam attack which has the potential to derez enemies causing portions of them to dissolve on contact like they were being physically deleted. However, there is risks to using such a technique with a corrupt AI, if done the wrong way or if it backfires somehow, it has the potential to kill her AI.
Cherry is quite sexual in nature, even more so than Vanilla. This especially becomes apparent after her AI becomes corrupted. She would end up befriending her sexual rival Vanilla and they would both share Daniel. Cherry also seems bisexual and polygamous in nature as Vanilla seems to interest her at times. Cherry would also befriend KITT as they share a mainframe background and can relate with each other. Cherry would become Daniel's #2 vehicular lover, second only to his first which is and always will be Vanilla. Cherry doesnt mind this though. Her large body and loud engine typically have an intimidation effect on some of the other sentients, especially the smaller ones like Boo Boo and Vanilla. But Cherry generally means well. It is unknown if her corrupt AI will become more corrupt over time but one thing that is known is that the corruption cannot be repaired, not even by Gates.
