When Japan was taken over by Skynet, Honda was one of the corporations chosen along with Subaru, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Mazda to aid Skynet in creating their army for fighting against the world military. The MS-09 soldier droid had a very simple AI very much like the RX-09's from Mazda. However, these droids were more like miniature vertical tanks. Their arms lacked hands, instead opting to have the forearms become gatling lasers. They had much larger frames and bulk compared to the RX-09 and GT-12 sentries. This droid has the highest amount of DPS of all the infantry utilized by Skynet but due to their design they are also the slowest moving often making them easy targets to shoot at. Due to this the MS-09 had to be equipped with heavy daitanium plating making it move even slower on the battlefield but it could take a hit much better than the other infantry models. Honda would also utilize a hierarchy structure with their combat androids. Their MS-09 soldier droids were led by a command unit which was named Asimo Honda. This unit was equipped with sentient AI to be able to make command decisions on the battlefield and had different markings on its armor plating that distinguished it from standard MS-09's.
