The Advanced Computing Divison were responsible for developing the first generation schematics. Sometimes the VT's were vaguely humanoid in nature but nothing like the Grand Mechs that would come later. Their weapons utilized vulcan cannons, laser cannons, and rockets. 2nd generation vertical tanks were a bit larger than their 1st generation counterparts. The rockets and vulcan cannons were phased out in preference of more high tech weaponry. 3rd generation and onward were developed later when they became the Technological Research Division during their Skynet transition.
