Skynet started development near the end of 1979. It first saw use with Project Gemini; an enhanced STIG enforcement vehicle. This was a response to the ever growing issue of Ki energy causing severe damage to non-daitanium armored units. The original energy barrier was only good enough to repel conventional bullets. Eventually as research and development progressed, more powerful versions of the AT field could block more intense kind of attacks, even Ki based attacks to some extent. The AT field would later be utilized in various large scale mechas, sentries, and specialized androids. They were also installed in various Skynet facilities, especially their headquarters. There were 10 grades of AT fields before development was discontinued in favor of Ki energy research.
