Category:Foundation for Law and Government
The Foundation for Law and Government is a crime fighting organization dedicated to fighting criminals who hold themselves above the law. They were a subdivision under the government but not as high as STRIKE. They worked on a more civilian level, tackling tasks that were too difficult for local law enforcement but not quite on the scope which required the full attention of the US military. They were funded partially by the government but mostly by a corporation named Knight Industries which was responsible for the research and development of various technologies including KITT the Knight Industries 2000. This was a specialized car with an artificial intelligence that controlled its actions. For not being Skynet technology this was a highly intelligent AI. Michael Knight was KITT's driver and they operated mainly in the United States but sometimes they would venture off and handle threats in nearby countries such as Mexico, Canada, and Cuba if any threats towards the United States were found. A funny thing about FLAG is that for a few years they were hidden in plain sight. They launched a TV show that showcased some of their crime fighting activities calling it Knight Rider and airing it in the 80s when they were first getting started. They figured their advanced car would seem too crazy to be real and would fit in with other action shows that aired at the time. This was to help fund their organization, especially when Knight Industries became a defunct corporation in the early 2000s due to competition from DARPA. Eventually STRIKE stepped in and took FLAG under their wing making them somewhat of a sidekick organization. Funding was no longer an issue however, much of their technology has aged by now and carries over a very retro-futuristic vibe.
