During the late 1970s was when Skytech dropped off the radar as their public operations ceased. They went into secrecy, continuing their technological research and development in the shadows. As 1980s came along their research advanced into cybernetics and android tech. A popular sci-fi action film would inspire them to rename their organization. Thus in 1984 the defunct Skytech became Skynet.
