The mech is able to transform into a fast moving hover vessel hence the name "HV" in its technical name. The Strike Warrior shares the same armament as the YAH-78 Super Apache and it's cockpit is very reminiscent of it as well. The same gustanium plated armor was used in construction of this mech making it lightweight compared to actual vertical tanks which were made out of thicker and heavier materials. This allows for it to move very quickly however, this also means that the Strike Warrior can only take so many hits before it is seriously damaged. It cannot tank enemy fire despite looking like a vertical tank that could. In hover vessel mode the layers of gustanium armor folded against one another grant it more durability compared to when it is in mech mode, however it does not have as much firepower at its disposal in this mode. As a hover vessel it can move very quickly on the ground and can even glide from sufficient heights. It also has a roof mounted auto turret to protect itself while it is left unmanned in hover vessel mode. Advanced AI gives it the ability to pilot itself when needed, much like the YAH-78 Super Apache. It's bipedal movement is very rudimentary and for a mech that is light on its feet it is not very agile on it's legs. It is clearly a prototype as it moves just about as well as Skynet's larger and much heavier VT's in bipedal mode. This weakness and many others would be improved by Gates's assistance when the Strike Warrior was retrofitted to be able to handle Skynet's forces.
