What is interesting about Sylvia is that her body was already completed when her AI was installed in her. Sylvia was a used car prior to her AI installation which meant extensive modifications had to be made to her structure. Gates decided since he had to go through all this work he might as well add a neat feature to her. She was fitted with a large scale rail gun mode which reconfigured most of her body to take the shape of the weapon. Sylvia is fast and maneuverable, shes also manual transmission unlike a lot of the other sentients. The only other one who shares her transmission type is Subarina. Sylvia would eventually meet her 'chosen one' at a used car dealership. It is unknown what circumstances took place to trigger her subroutine but it may have been a similar experience to what Dan had with Vanilla.
